*My Story

I am

a strong, gentle, spiritual, empathetic, powerful, white-american woman.

i am a tree climber, a mountain ripper, a dancer in my kitchen, a singer in my car, an adventurer, a california native, an ally, an accessory connoisseure, a student, a teacher, a water baby, a creator of beautiful spaces, an oakland home owner, a conversationalist of strangers, an eater of amazing food, a traveler, a lover of language, an advocate of social justice, a sister, a daughter, a wife.
I earn my daily bread

As a Youth Program Coordinator for HOME Project, a program of Alternatives in Action.

How my leadership has changed as a result of OTV

The network and support that has been established has made me realize that I am not in this journey alone.  When I step up as a leader to advocate for equity and justice I know that I have a group of supporters backing me up and doing similar work in other areas of our community.  OTV has provided a space to be reflective and insightful while pushing me to grow into the leader that I want to be.

Where I’ve come from and where I expect to be in the next 3-5 years

Wow now there's a real question.

I come from an amazing family, a small town, a loving community.  I have a BA in Outdoor Recreation and have spent the last 5 years of my career working in the wilderness.
In 2007 I graduated with an MA in education focusing on language, culture and power.  In the future I plan to continue advocating for social justice, work in the non-profit/education sector, continue my travels, start a family, and continue to live with enthusiasm and tenacity.
