*My Story

I am

a korean-italian-american woman, an elementary educator, a karaoke addict, a mediocre but determined soccer player, a math-lover, a shoe fanatic, a big-eater, a wannabe world traveler, and my toughest critic!

I earn my daily bread

working with 20 very wonderful and capable second-graders at L.U.C.H.A. elementary school in san jose's alum rock school district.

How my leadership has changed as a result of OTV

OTV has connected me with an amazing group of individuals, helping me to remember why i chose to be an educator and to refocus on what it means to teach for social justice.  OTV is also helping me to be more forgiving of myself and recognize my strengths so i can reach my full potential as a leader both within and outside of my classroom.

Where I’ve come from and where I expect to be in the next 3-5 years

i have come from so many places...so many people...so many experiences...and so many struggles...i can't possibly do them justice here.  as for the next 3-5 years, i want to be even more involved with schools and/or organizations that fight to provide children with the education they deserve...i want to be connected to an even larger community of educators and activists working within that struggle...i want to have visited more parts of the world...and i want to have a greater repertoire of songs to sing. :)
