*My Story

I am

strong/vulnerable, intelligent/inquiring, strategic/artistic, simple/complex, spiritual, passionate and full of love. A true jill of all trades.

I earn my daily bread

As a founding partner in T and R Consulting, a fledgling consulting  firm that provides consulting, organizational development and capacity building assistance in the area of cultural competency with an emphasis on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ), African American & Pacific Islander  communities.

How my leadership has changed as a result of OTV

Through self-awareness coaching and group process from adult reflection, I have learned to listen to mana (earthly wisdom),  to act with intent, to turn to my community in times need  and to hold myself and others accountable. I do this to sustain myself in the work, to step into my power, to move through fear and to have faith in my ideas in order to envision and implement change.

Where I’ve come from and where I expect to be in the next 3-5 years

My journey in life has taken me from the sleepy southern village of Maloloj on the Island of Guahan in Micronesia, to California where I’ve spent my most formative years in the crossfire of deep East Oakland. In the next 3 to 5 years, I hope to be making significant strides in advancing the political and economic maturity and cultural revitalization on the Island of Guahan and in the larger Oceania-Pacific region. My role is to be the bridge between those who live in the Pacific Islander diaspora within the United States and those who live in the Pacific in order to bring home to the Oceania- Pacific region the needed expertise and resources to sustain themselves in a rapidly changing and globalized world. I hope to be based both in the U.S. and the Pacific and I have faith that my journey will bless me with an equally strong, intelligent and passionate partner whose intent is to also leave the world a better place.
