*My Story
- I am
I am a listener, friend, son, older brother, a first generation, gay, Pilipino-American man who has a passion for real and meaningful connections.
- I earn my daily bread
As a Program Associate at United Way of the Bay Area, I hope to create spaces of honest communication so that funding works for non-profits and the communities it serves.
- How my leadership has changed as a result of OTV
My understanding of leadership has changed – Leaders aren’t only those who talk, take charge, or delegate responsibilities. In realizing this, I’ve learned that my leadership grows from who I am – a relationship builder.
- Where I’ve come from and where I expect to be in the next 3-5 years
Previous to United Way of the Bay Area, I advocated for seniors’ public benefits at Legal Assistance for Seniors, and connected community organizations working against domestic violence to numerous government departments as an Assistant to an Alameda County Supervisor.
In the next 3-5 years, I continue to see myself working at a grant-giving organization that positively impacts immigrants, LGBT communities, and communities of color through policy changes.
