The McPherson Neighborhood, as well as McPherson Elementary School, has a high concentration of Latino and low-income families. On The Move is working with families and partner agencies to establish educational excellence; community and youth leadership; parents engaged in fulfilling their family’s needs for health and wellbeing; engagement of low-income and affordable housing residents; increased access to and co-location of social, economic and health services; and overall improvement of the quality of life in the neighborhood.

On January 16, 2008 a town hall meeting took place at McPherson Elementary School . Two hundred members from the McPherson community came together to discuss the realities and possibilites for their neighborhood.
