New Years Resolutions

Hi Everyone! I hope that you had a happy and prosperious new year!I wanted to send my wishes to all of you and then an idea came to me. I don't know if any of you make new year's resolutions. But if you do I thought that this is something that we can help eachother with. We can help eachother achieve our goals. My thought is that when we are with other vergers in any setting we can support eachother to achieve our goals for the year. In the very least if people want to post them on the web then we will know more about what each of us are trying to accomplish.I will start:I will:Lose 20 pounds. Get my Nica film into a festival. Find a way to purchase a professional video camera. Get two of my students internships in the business. Happy new years, Casey.

Replying to Casey

Hey Case,
Happy new year! Nice to hear from you, even if only over the internet.

Wanted to know if you had strategy and plans around reaching your new year's resolutions?

Here are two of my major resolutions:

** Maintaining healthy exercise and eating habits-- losing 30 lbs. over this year

** Being aware of my spending habits-- developing and maintaining a savings plan, researching 401 B and other retirement options

Let me know if there is a way i can support you developing, implementing and revising strategies... i know i will need support around my second one, as i am just waking up to the reality of my financial situation.

Happy New Year!

Resolution Helpers

So I'm a bit of a tech geek and read blogs and all that... thought I'd drop some cool finds in the forum in case anyone is looking for some resolution assistance from the net.
(PS - I'm also going to be writing a non-profit tech blog entry for Whitman at the prompting and idea of Edd)

Here are some resolution related and helpful websites:

  • http://31left.com/ - You commit to one resolution at a time (or multiples, logged separately) within a time frame and with a payoff (for a charity of your choosing) if you don't make it. In February, 31 left will contact you and find out if they owe you congrats or if you owe your charity.
  • http://www.hassleme.co.uk/ - you can set this one to give you email reminders of whatever it is you want for whatever time period you want. No money due at the end (i know, what's the point?).
  • http://www.thedailyplate.com/ - lets you keep a daily food diary and count your calories pretty easily
  • or try http://www.traineo.com/ - to sign up your health and fitness goals and have connected in friends or "motivators" who can help keep you on track

Or, if you're not into posting your private promises online, then try this software you can download and use on your own desktop: Download.com's Resolution Software

How inspiring Casey! You

How inspiring Casey! You have definitely given me food for thought. Once I get my email cleaned up, I might be able to go forward with my resolution of building and fostering relationships. So hard when you have 900 emails nagging at you. Thanks for the inspiration and I will get back to you on my concrete resolutions. You might want to join Max, etsuko and I on the Weight Watchers kick. I have lost about 15 pounds to date. Perhaps Kandra will join us to.
